The Internal Revenue Service has issued a resign of the W-4 Tax Form. Effective January 1, 2020 employers must provide all new hires the redesigned W-4[1].
The new design was created to reduce complication and complexity and increase simplicity. The questions are more direct to make tax withholding easier for new employees. Employees that already have a W-4 from years prior to 2020 are not required to execute a redesigned form.
