Ashley C. Azato
Attorney
About Ashley
Ashley joined Allen & Associates in 2019 and has built her legal career at the Firm, progressing from legal assistant to paralegal and law clerk before becoming an attorney after earning her Juris Doctor from Widener University Delaware Law School in 2024. That experience gives Ashley a unique understanding of how cases develop from the earliest stages of a client relationship through investigation, litigation, and resolution.
Ashley focuses her practice on labor and employment law and civil litigation, representing both employees and employers in significant workplace disputes. She works closely with clients to understand not only the legal issues they face, but also what is at stake for their careers, businesses, reputations, and livelihoods. Her approach combines careful preparation, practical advice, and determined advocacy focused on advancing each client’s objectives.
Her practice includes employment discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation and whistleblower claims, wrongful termination, workplace disputes, education-related matters, wage and hour disputes, disability accommodations, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Delaware Paid Leave matters, internal investigations, workplace safety matters, and professional licensure proceedings and other employment and civil litigation. Ashley represents clients in state and federal court and assists with matters before administrative agencies and other governmental bodies.
Ashley has gained meaningful litigation experience representing clients in complex employment and civil matters. She has served as counsel in Delaware Superior Court and the Court of Chancery as well as the United States District Court for the District of Delaware. She has experience representing employers defending significant claims as well as individuals and employees seeking to protect their workplace rights.
One of Ashley’s greatest strengths is the depth of her experience with Allen & Associates. Having worked on legal matters at the Firm in multiple roles before becoming an attorney, she understands the importance of developing the facts, communicating with clients, preparing a case thoroughly, and anticipating the issues that can determine the direction of a dispute. She brings that perspective to every matter she handles.
Prior to law school, Ashley graduated from the University of Alabama in 2018 with dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Advertising and Italian Foreign Language Studies. Her diverse academic background, combined with years of hands-on experience in a labor and employment practice, allows her to communicate effectively with clients and approach legal problems from both an analytical and practical perspective.
Today, Ashley continues to build her practice at Allen & Associates representing clients in workplace and civil disputes while working alongside the Firm’s attorneys on complex litigation.
